Kevin Hikel

Born in the Province of New Brunswick in Eastern Canada, Kevin felt the call of God early on to serve in ministry.  This calling led him to Connecticut to serve as an intern at a church under its youth pastor.  After two years he then moved to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to serve as a youth and children’s pastor at a small congregation.  Sensing it was time to move on Kevin packed all his belongings into a 1989 Buick LaSaber and started driving west to the big city of Dallas, TX to attend Christ for the Nations Institute (CFNI).  It was there that Kevin had his car stolen and, more importantly, his heart stolen when he met the love of his life, Kaija.  After graduating on a hot Friday afternoon on May 11, 2007, with an associate degree in practical theology, they waited patiently until Monday, May 14 to get married.  Later that summer they relocated to Kaija’s home in Polk County WI. From 2008 to 2014, Kevin and Kaija’s family grew having 3 boys and 2 girls.  In August of 2014 Kevin and his family returned to Dallas, TX to finish studies at CFNI majoring in New Testament Church Leadership (Kevin) and Worship (Kaija).  While there, the surprise of a lifetime happened, not only was Kaija expecting again but this time it was twins, adding 2 more boys to the family. Upon finishing studies at CFNI the Hikel’s returned to Wisconsin where they have served as pastors, children’s ministry coordinators, and now attend and volunteer at Adventure Church in Siren, WI. From 2020 to 2022, Kevin completed a bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies through Grand Canyon University (GCU). With his degree, he is now working as a school teacher in their local school district. Kevin is also a fan of Root Beer and has a collection of over 80 glass root beer bottles and cans.  He is welcome to suggestions as to where he can find and drink more.  If your looking for him, he’s probably in a locked bathroom hiding from his children so he can finish the chapter in the book he’s reading or try a country road and look for the guy wearing tight shorts struggling to pedal up a hill on his bike.
